LiteningFast Tour

The main LiteningFast screen is the Estimate Entry Screen. It has two sections. The top half of the screen shows you what you've already estimated, including totals by sectionEstimating Screen Top Half - Your estimate as you're taking it off (188192 bytes)

If you look at the green lines under the column headed by an "N", you'll see that three of the lines have notes. You can add notes to each estimate line, to each section, phase, and the estimate itself. Your notes can be printed on the estimate, or not, depending on the type of notes you've made.

The bottom half of the screen displays Sections and Items by section which is the list you use to select the items for the estimate.

One of the things you'll notice is that we use yellow for the sections and green for the items. This helps you see where you are at a glance. The colors are modifiable so you can chose whatever colors are best for you.

Something else you'll see, or at least partially see, is that each Item line in green, has several columns of numbers. This is you cost for Materials, Labor, Equipment, Subcontracts, and Miscellaneous. As you take off each line all of those costs are included in the takeoff.

This is the window you see when you select and Item to This is a screen shot adding a line to the estimate. 300kbe added to the estimate. The Quantity is remembered from the last item you took off, so if you have a number of items with the same quantity it's just Point-Click-Click. You can adjust everything about an item, like Mat $/Unit (material dollars per unit). If you change it you may also make the change permanent so the next time you use this item in an estimate it will have the updated price.

When you complete the estimate you 18 different options for printing the estimate most based on what users have asked for over the last 7 years. You can even write the estimate to disk so that you can use a word processor, like Microsoft Word, to add any boilerplate and formatting you want.
